The name LANXESS comes from the French Word "lancer" and the English word "success". Translating: launching and success. Two words that combined symbolize a dynamic, forward looking company focused on worldwide leadership in the chemical products segment.
A young company that was already born with a long and respected history.
LANXESS’ origins go back to year 1863, when Bayer was founded. In 2004, the Bayer Group underwent a restructuring process in its business. Its chemical activities and a part of its polymers activities were transferred to a new company within the group, LANXESS, which on January 31st, 2005 became independent.
LANXESS is headquartered in Germany and is currently present in 50 locations in 18 countries. It has 20,000 collaborators who ensure a worldwide quality standard, service and specialized technical support, as well as research and development of technologies.
LANXESS’ Inorganic Pigments business unit (BU-IPG) offers solutions to color construction materials, paints, plastics, rubbers and papers, among other products and also for other technical areas not necessarily related to colors, such as applications in brake linings, bricks, catalysts and water treatment.
In Brazil LANXESS inorganic pigments plant in Porto Feliz-SP, the only one outside Germany structured to synthesize iron oxide, has been recently expanded and modernized.
Among the leading brands and products manufactured in Porto Feliz are the industrial iron oxide pigments of the Bayferrox® line and the Xadrez® pigments, whose information has been organized and are presented in this site to allow civil construction professionals, craftsmen, artists, restorers, and anyone who is interested in art and painting in general to know these pigments’ applications better and color with the proper guidance so that they obtain the results they have planned in their work.
