The product range of the LANXESS Bayferrox® Line also includes red, yellow, brown and black pigments. Micronized pigments or fine-grind pigments are identified by the letter M.

The new Bayferrox® M Browns received the following designations: 601M, 658M, 975M and 985M.

The LOM Yellows

LANXESS’ yellow iron oxide of the Bayferrox® LOM line were developed in Brazil and their quality is recognized by local and international consumers. The LOM abbreviation represents the main advantages of those yellows:

LO (Low Oil Absorption)

M (Micronized)

Indicates the low oil absorption, which allows the lower consumption of additives, such as moisturizing, leveling or drying agents.

Normal Yellow: Absorbs 40g of oil for each 100g of pigment.

LOM yellow: Absorbs 24g of oil for each 100g of pigment.

Because it is micronized, it ensures an excellent dispersion capacity, which results in better thickness (Hegman>6,5) and lower consumption of energy for the paint’s production process.

The main advantages of these products are the following:

  • Low viscosity in its formulas, which favors the high concentration of pigments and enhances the shine and coloring power;
  • Stability and suitability in watery and solvent systems, as well as in organic and non-organic compounds;
  • High coating power and opacity;
  • High level (8) of resistance to light;
  • Resistance to bad weather;
  • Low concentration of residues ;
  • Reduction of the formation of lumps;
  • Density that allows smaller packages and storage areas.
