In the Civil Construction field, developing ideal colors involves observing the kind of application. A very low pigment dosage is not recommended, because the coloring will be insignificant and will have no effect. On the other hand, the saturation limit should also be observed, aiming at obtaining the maximum color effect with savings and quality. It should be pointed out the powder pigment dosage should be per weight, for the powder is extremely thin and may suffer compacting or desegregation during handling and stacking, which would result in big failures when using the volumetric dosage.
Pigment dosage table recommended per application.
| Application | Recommended pigment dosage | |
| Concrete | 4% to 5% over the cement’s weight | |
| Interlocked floors | 4% to 6% over the cement’s weight | |
| Pre-molded concrete | 4% to 5% over the cement’s weight | |
| Concrete roof tiles | 3% to 5% over the cement’s weight | |
| Fibrocement roof tiles | 4% to 5% over the cement’s weight | |
| Blocks | 4% to 6% over the cement’s weight | |
| Mortar | 1% to 7% over total weight | |
| Hydraulic floor tiles | 1% to 7% over the cement’s weight | |
| Whitewash | 3% to 8% over total weight | |
| Coarse mortar finishing | 3% to 5% over the cement’s weight |
